Now that it has been clarified what spin-off movie Margot Robbie is exec-producing, I think it’s time to do some fan-casting! To clarify, these picks are always a round up of not only my ideas but outside ideas from other fans as well. No other characters have been confirmed for the film other than Harley Quinn, but we can assume Catwoman and Poison Ivy will appear.
Bottom-Line: It’s not perfect but it doesn’t deserve the slamming from critics. Entertaining throughout and should satisfy fans of comic books/Suicide Squad.
“Two years ago Suicide Squad was a tertiary [DC property]. No one knew anything about it. It was a cool little playground, and I was going to go make my movie,” says the film’s writer/director, David Ayer. “Now it’s like the hype bus. All of the attention has swung onto it, and it has to carry a lot more weight than it was ever intended to. I think it can sustain it. But it’s a lot of pressure. You definitely feel the pressure.” (via EW)
Here is Jared Leto as The Joker, gracing the front cover of Empire:
After the Suicide Squad SDCC trailer leaked and was spread everywhere across the internet, with one site gaining over 7 million views, WB decided to officially release the trailer. You can tell they’re a little peeved, and I understand that this was exclusively made for those who went to SDCC and waited in line for so long, but just from the reaction of fans outside SDCC, you can already tell how big of a hit Suicide Squad will be. Check out the trailer below along with screen grabs of the trailer that we can analyze together!
Oh I’m not gonna kill ya. I’m just gonna hurt ya. Really, really bad.
Greg Silverman announced today the cast of the Suicide Squad movie that will be directed and written by David Ayer (Fury) and scheduled for an August 5, 2016 release. WB just announced it’ll also be released 2D and 3D. His statement:
“The Warner Bros. roots are deep on this one. David Ayer returns to the studio where he wrote ‘Training Day’ and brings his incredible ability to craft multidimensional villains to this iconic DC property with a cast of longtime Warner collaborators Will Smith and Tom Hardy, and other new and returning favorites: Margot, Jared, Jai and Cara. We look forward to seeing this terrific ensemble, under Ayer’s amazing guidance, give new meaning to what it means to be a villain and what it means to be a hero.”
