Warner Bros announces DC Comics Movie Line-Up!

Warner Bros CEO Kevin Tsujihara dropped a huge announcement when speaking at Time Warner Investor Day. He announced the 9 previously untitled DC movies, along with 3 The Lego Movies and the Harry Potter spin-off movies. The Lego Ninjago Movie will be released in 2016, The Lego Batman Movie in 2017, and a sequel to The Lego Movie in 2018. The Harry Potter spin-0ff, Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them, will be a trilogy (as of right now) releasing in 2016, 2018, and 2020. The HP spin-off movies will be directed by David Yates. Now for the DC Comics line-up…

MARCH 25, 2016

Filming has been underway for BvS for awhile now. Cast members: Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, Scoot McNairy, Tao Okamoto, Callan Mulvey, Harry Lennix, Ray Fisher, and rumored Jason Momoa. There’s a rumor that the big baddie is Doomsday, created with the corpse of General Zod.

AUGUST 5, 2016

The Suicide Squad already has a director in David Ayer, (Fury, Sabotage), and supposedly 4 A-Listers are in talks to join the film. Tsujihara: “A gritty story of a team of supervillains who take on black ops missions for the U.S. government.” There is no official report on who will make up the line-up, except for a rumored seven – Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, Vixen, Blockbuster, Mindboggler, Jaculi, and Multiplex. Anyone else rooting for Harley Quinn? Who do you want to see in this movie? Rumor has it WB is looking to get Ryan Gosling, Will Smith, Margot Robbie, and Tom Hardy for the movie. I don’t know about you, but I would love to see each of them in this.

JUNE 23, 2017

We already have our Wonder Woman in Gal Gadot as she is set to appear in the Batman v Superman movie. The only other person attached to the film is screenwriter Michael Goldenberg (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix). What story are you hoping to see? Or what WW villain? Circe? Cheetah? Or even Ares? Tsujihara: “Wonder Woman is an iconic female superhero fans have been anticipating for many years.”

NOVEMBER 10, 2017

I’m sure we’re all pretty surprised that Justice League will be in two parts. Not JL 1, Jl 2. It’s Justice League Part One, then Justice League Part Two. What story line will they go into? Who knows. Quite possibly the forming of the team will take up Part One. But who is on the roster for this film? Only Henry Cavill (Superman), Ben Affleck (Batman), and Amy Adams (Lois Lane) has been confirmed for the film with Zack Snyder directing. We can assume though that Wonder Woman, Flash, and Aquaman will make up part of the roster as well. Anyone else rooting for Martian Manhunter? And how about that theory of Brainiac being the villain? *cough*Benedict Cumberbatch please*cough*

MARCH 23, 2018

Tsujihara: “Fans among the world will become more acquainted with [The Flash] through our hit show on The CW.”

If this isn’t further confirmation that the TV (CW) and movie universes won’t be connected, I don’t know what is. Ezra Miller (We Need To Talk About Kevin), currently 22, has been announced to play The Flash – sorry Grant Gustin fans. I’ll say this comes as a big shocker for me, mainly because I was rooting for Cameron Monaghan or Garrett Hedlund. Now Miller is a great actor, check out his recent movies! But I’m curious to how he will bring up the Flash…We’ll probably get more details on his solo movie later. Also, will we even see Miller in the JL movie since Flash is coming after it? Hmm…

JULY 27, 2018

Well it’s finally been OFFICIALLY confirmed that Jason Momoa is indeed Aquaman. The only other information there is about the movie is that there are TWO scripts being worked on and whichever version WB likes best will be the one! What characters are you hoping to see in the movie?

APRIL 5, 2019

We already know that Dwayne The Rock Johnson has been cast as Black Adam, the villain of Shazam. So far no cast announcement has been made for Shazam. But a lot of fans are rooting for this guy…

PicMonkey Collage3

Yup, Daniel Cudmore aka Colossus from X-Men. He’s actually all for playing Shazam as well. I don’t think it’s too bad an idea! Shazam will be written by Darren Lemke (Goosebumps, Jack the Giant Slayer), no director is attached yet.

JUNE 14, 2019

Here’s another shocker in the announced DC line-up. We knew a Justice League movie was on the way however we did NOT know there would be a second part, and so soon as well! There’s not much information on this film except that Zack Snyder will be directing.

Who will be Green Lantern?

Our Justice League! Who will be Green Lantern?

APRIL 3, 2020

Anyone see this coming? I figured a Teen Titans movie was more likely! We already have a Cyborg in newcomer Ray Fisher, no other cast members have been announced as well as director and screenwriter.

JUNE 19, 2020

I’m not entirely surprised that a reboot of Green Lantern is coming. The question is – who will be the new Lantern? And will we see Hal or John? I’m rooting for John Stewart but we’ll see! I’ve already done a fan-casting for JL in general, but maybe I’ll update and do just GL in the future! As of now, no cast members, director, or screenwriter has been announced.

Well, maybe this really isn’t a surprise. But the true MoS sequel will be coming later along with a Batman solo. I’m happy to see that WB/DC is working on solo movies for other superheroes rather than these two. I am curious to what will happen in these solo movies though…

So that’s it for the announced DC line-up! What do you think? Happy to see these characters being brought to the big screen? Any disappointments/surprises? Comment and let me know!
